That's Apple's developer conference, where they talk about programming and stuff, but more importantly, he gives a presentation on all the cool new [censored] Apple has for the year. Among the many announcements is the G5 Powermac, which basically blows the hell outta anything anybody here owns. It's the first 64 bit personal computer. It can have 8 gigs of RAM, up from the max of 4 gigs. And the motherboards actually support that. The processor has a 1 Ghz FSB. It has 8x AGP now. It's a [censored] beast. http://www.apple.com/powermac | | | |

I must say I am surprised Steve Jobs partnered up with IBM. Did not missunderstand or did I here IBM say they have already made the proto type for the G6.
Apple just might gain some market shares with this tech push. I for one need to clean up after watching that video. I creamed all over myself.
8 gigs of ram, 1 Ghz front side bus, super drives, linons and tigers and bears OH MY!!!

If you want an Apple, seems he already has Apple partnered up with IBM in order to develop the G5. So that's what that's about. Crime, I'm not sure what Intel released. However I watched the streaming web cast, and Jobs put a new G5 up against a dual Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz machines, and it whipped the [censored] out of the Pentium machine in everything. Stuff like rendering a 309 meg file in Photoshop took 28 seconds on the Mac, and 3 minutes and change on the PC. These are some serious kick-[censored] machines. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 508 Likes: 1 UGN Super Poster | | UGN Super Poster Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 508 Likes: 1 | yeh, all i have to say is: [censored] MACS i think they are a waste of money oh yeh, and [censored] apple's cheating [censored] http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/39/31405.html | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 1,136 UGN Elite Poster | | UGN Elite Poster Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 1,136 | Of course there are two sides to every story. This is a slashdot interview in which the Apple Hardware VP defends the benchmarks, contending that the tests weren't rigged to favor the G5, and in fact options were made so that the Pentium system would perform optimally. http://apple.slashdot.org/apple/03/06/24/2154256.shtml?tid=126&tid=181 | | | | | Joined: Jun 2002 Posts: 207 Member | | Member Joined: Jun 2002 Posts: 207 | ah, but yet another article claiming apple may have adjusted the benchmarks in their favor. http://zdnet.com.com/2100-1103_2-1020631.html//
