I have installed IE 6.0 to support 128 bit enryption for a secure website that I log onto regulary. I am having problems logging on now, or even opening the webpage for that matter. I t shows my cypher strenth is 54 bit. I have checked the SSL and so but no luck. I have checked security contents and tryed everythin. Is ther something I am missing when it comes to 128 enabling it or somthing.

thanxs

I have IE6.0 so I think it is different, but I went out to Microsofts web page and had to download high encryption on top of IE. Thats strange because everyone that I know that has 6.0 has automatically had 128 enryp. installed, but no matter many I tried from the website or disk I would get 56 enrypt. only. Anyway, problem is solved but still puzzling. Thanx

It might depend on where you live. There are encryption export laws. If you're in the wrong country, or if MS thought you were in the wrong country, they may not have let you download it for that reason.

When i installed IE6.0 it only came with 56bit even on win2k
What I had to do was goto Help -> About and click Update Cipher
or something like that
