Good part of its XML (and the XML part is Really big) doesn't work. So its pretty unuseable for things that might be interesting...

It's a bit glitchy... still has some bugs, but what do you expect. It works alright though.

As far as I know it is still in testing, I will gladly wait for the RTM. I am sure it will be buggy enough even at that point. However, I think 2000 was pretty popular and XP not at all (in a commercial business aspect), but this is the operating system I perceive to be the standard for a will (similar to what NT4 did for so long).

I was told that Longhorn was being built from the ground up. Which is what was done with NT I think. If this is indeed the case that every line of code is going to be rewritten from scratch, then it will most likely be another century until it is out.

On another note, the name Longhorn came from a bar in the Whistler-Blackcomb ski resort area.

Can anyone verify this, or am I in some other dimension?

So is this right?

Whistler became .NET which became 2003
Longhorn is the .NET which is out next year?

whistler = windows XP
longhorn = next windows release of windows (for the desktop at least). In a few days (april 24) windows server 2003 will be on stores. (In the past known as windows.net server)
