Is this proof that bush cheated in the elections? A couple of friends told me to check out the following articles. I did and it was an eye opening read. For those of you who might be interested check out these links.

i'm making this reply b4 i've even read those, but, heh...i still stand by my theory that if someone isn't smart enough to figure out how to vote, they probably shouldn't be the one's that decide on the presidency. =P i'll read through these then pass them on to a friend of mine. he's a big fan of bush (bigger than me even!) lol. he's extremely smart, and so rather than reading 7 articles which may or may not be biased towards a certain side, i like to hear both sides. i found this to be the best way to view things. i've found that while neither side (democrat/republican, bush/anti-bush, war/anti-war) is perfect, i've found that bush comes ahead. and while it wouldn't be right if say the elections were rigged or whatever you feel like saying, i stil think we're better off having bush over gore. so yeah, lemme read these, then pass them onto my friend. while im pro-bush, i still appreciate any form of input and information, even if it is anti-bush. but i suppose that's the nature of everyone at this board. to get information.//

um...Bush didn't do anything to stop the recount. the Supreme Court did on December 12, 2000. Gore decided to be a little [censored] about it and drag it on for a month. oh, and what was the total after they actually did get it all settled? Bush: 2,909,176
Gore: 2,907,451

Did you read the articles? It said his father helped him, by getting 5 of his repulican buddies on the supreme court to put a stop to it. Gore backed down because he knew that if things kept on going, it would have caused an outbreak of riots, between Democrats & Republicans.

perhaps i missed it, but in you articles, it says that "Bush sent his lawyers to the U.S. Supreme Court where five Republican justices decided on Dec. 9, 2000, to stop the counting of votes. Then, on Dec. 12, the same five Republicans blocked a resumption" that is a direct quote from one of your articles. it says nothing about Bush Sr. and all it says is that republican Supreme Court justices stopped the recount. George W. did not choose those justices, nor did his father. They were already there and decided to stop the recount because it was tearing this country apart. plus it was ridiculous to begin with. so my question to you is: did YOU read the articles?

I went back and read the articles again, I couldn't find that statement about his father. I must have read it on another site, as I was reading articles from 10 different sites. So I retract what I said about his father. But if the rest of the info contained in those articles is true, then Gore and America got screwed in a major way.

At least you are gracious enough to admit when you've misquoted. Thank you for that! laugh I understand how information tends to run together when you're reading so many articles at one time.

That said, I understand your side and what you're saying. But there is always another view on things. That's all I'm trying to point out. If the info contained in the articles I read, some of the info I posted, is true, then Bush is getting pissed on for no reason. Just remember to check out both sides!

Believe it or not, I actually do read articles from all sides. If any person regardless of their party, entered into the presidency under the same circumstances as Bush did; then I'm giong to have alot of questions and opinions about them.

Disgruntled: i understand questioning the situation. i think everyone has asked similar questions. the thing is, it's done with. he is our president. does talking about the circumstances of his winning change a thing? no. he will remain president until there is new one elected. i personally believe he did win and that Gore was just being a huge [censored] about it. If Gore has anyone to blame, it would be Nadar for taking away from his voting pool.

Hmmm. This sounds like what the president is saying about the WOMD. He talks about them as if their irrelevant, because we liberated the Iraqi people. Well its not ok to lie, cheat, and steal, or to get American soldiers killed fighting for a bunch of Bullshit lies. Also, he lied and cheated his way into the presidency, how bad do you think his conscious
would bother him, if he were to place fake WOMD out there for the soldiers to find; just so he could tell Americans "I told you so!" Not to mention the sudden increase of votes he would get in the next election. Thats just my opinion, I could wrong, but I don't think so. You are also allowed your opinion, that's what makes this country great.
wink

ehh... it's just the fact that Bush did NOT cheat. he did nothing of the sort. he ended up winning Florida fair and square. it never should have been an issue. Gore had to be a [censored] and make it into one because he couldn't stand losing. simple as that.

Here's a little tidbit of info. Jeb Bush current gov. of florida, has dicided that a full staff of workers that help ex-convicts regain their voting rights, isn't necessary. He has decided to cut the staff in half. This has angered alot of people in Fl. The rumor mill has it that, Jeb knows that these convicts are going to vote against his brother in the next election. So he's doing what he can to help out his brother before the election. I did hear on the news that Jeb had cut the size of the staff. As far as the rest of it goes, I don't know if it's true or not.

i'm not saying you're wrong, you may be very correct. but just remember that a lot of people have been losing their jobs, there have been many many cut backs in government programs. perhaps there is another reason he decided to cut the staff in half... like the state spending cuts etc.

Your right about the layoffs, but with all the crap that went on in the last election; you would think Jeb would have learned his lesson, and not done anything that might suggest any cheating is going on. wink
