The problem is their are so many wi-fi singals that are in encrypted until...it take's awhile to find one that's not...I was wondering if their's away to tell at a glance...by looking at the series of numbers if they network is encrypted or not?.

Now that I know it's software, I'd recommend using Network Stumbler over it if you want to achieve what you're wanting to achieve...
