well, if u have visited the IRC lately, you would know that both sum and I have been attacked within the last week. What happens is:
1. Kill by server
2. Person(bot) joins with your nick
3. Your nick is unregistered.
4. Person(bot) sits on channel with your nick.

Well, yesterday(when i was attacked), just before I left, I closed all of my programs, but yet i still had 1 port open.
It was 80, and I was connected to 212.74.101.81.
Now logically this is the ip of the attacker.
However i just did a little /whowas dashocker and I found:
dashocker was Curse@*IP Removed By Admin* * Richard "Princess" Iron
dashocker using irc.UnderGroundNews.org 10/29/2002 13:01:45

hmm, now I have two options, either it was Curse or some attacker. I don't think it was Curse, but...well anyway, another piece of info is sum runs Win2000 and I run Win98.

I was wondering if anyone else has had it happen to them, what it is, who is doing it, how they are doing it, and what can be done to stop it?

did u ever use Torment script for mIRC, it's hell great, maybe the best script i've ever seen on the net, it has lots of protection options and everything else, i thought maybe you should try that one and see if's usefull for your problem.

lol, u amuse me...first off, its Curse doing it, so its not like Im vulnerable, he has permission to do it. second of all, i was coding a thing to protect me from that, but once i found out it Curse i no longer care. Lastly, Torment sux. I had it when I was still young...its full of worthless, worthless things as well as many, many kiddie functions that don't work...plus, the entire thing is piles of spaghetti code, there is no way I would download that again...I'm pretty sure it is larger than mIRC itself. fear the run-on sentence...

Listen, if you need protection you've done something stupid to begin with. If you need a script make your own, 90% of them out there have backdoors and [censored] coded into them, so why use them?

Gizmo i suggested him to use Torment because it has no backdoors or anything like that, i used mirc for a long long long time and i got sick of that [censored] couple months ago.. i did coded my own scripts so don't wory about it i know what i'm talking. anyway just wanted to help now you guys do whatever you want.
