Clifton Griffin, a 19 year old college student, collaborated with an internet friend he calls "Justin X. B." to create a program which tricks people into thinking they are downloading cracks and activation key generators.

This Trojan Horse issues a message to downloaders saying: "So, you think you can steal from software companies do you? That's called theft, don't worry your secret is safe with me. Go thou and sin no more." The program records info while its open.

It then sends information back to a public web site which records the person's IP address, how long the person read the sermon and what country the person logged on from. Jason Schultz, an EFF attorney, says "two wrongs don't make a right."

I am wondering what this guys angle is. I mean who would care enough to do this? Maybe he is trying to sell the program, maybe he will apply for a job in software security. Whatever. I am betting this will affect people it was not meant to.
