The world’s second largest record label, Sony BMG, has announced that it is in collaboration talks with file-sharing company Grokster. Should a collaboration go ahead, Sony BMG will be a pioneering force in the music industry.

The recording industry has been slammed by analysts for refusing to accept the permanency of file-sharing networks and taking too long in its quest to shut them down. Sony BMG’s chairman said the talks were "at the very beginning."
