According to comScore Media Metrix, an online market research company, Match.com has taken the number one spot across the globe for online dating services. This was the first global ranking of online personal services ever.
In January alone, Match.com had almost 30 million unique visitors. Overall for January, 140.5 million people across the world visited online dating services. Match.com is owned by InterActiveCorp.
The second ranked MatchNet Plc had just 10.6 million unique visits for January. comScore spokesperson, Graham Mudd, said: "I wouldn't say there were any major surprises, Match.com has been a dominant player in the United States."
