On Friday Google introduced a new "Search by Number" feature which lets people type in the tracking number for their parcel, and then directs them directly to a Federal Express or United Parcel Service web page detailing the location of the parcel.

Tracking numbers aren't the only digits that can be accessed through this new search feature: patent numbers, FAA airplane registration numbers, and FCC equipment id numbers will also direct users to relevant information.

Other perks and plusses that Google has added to their services this year include news alerts, a calculator, a pop-up ad blocking toolbar, a search tool "deskbar" that does not require a user to open an internet window, and a glossary feature.
