Officials with Hallmark Data Systems, 7300 Linder Ave., told police May 18 that sometime between April 29 and May 16 someone hacked into their computer Web site, writing a computer program that let them scroll through credit card numbers of magazine subscribers. They said 28 credit cards were compromised. However, the hackers weren't able to access names, addresses, Social Security numbers, or card expiration dates. The company has contacted the Federal Trade Commission.

The point is that this was actually reported. Companies get loads more CC#'s stolen and don't report it. What would happen to E-Bay or whatever if they reported 2500 CC#'s stolen? There is a lot more of this going on than is in the newspapers.
