A California pediatrician and 49 yr. old mother of 2 teenagers, Dr. Jensen thinks marijuana should be the preferred method of treatment for ADD teenagers. Under CA law, physicians are allowed to recommend patients use marijuana to treat illnesses.
The preferred method of administering the marijuana to teenagers is by food and through candy form. It seems to be a major debate among doctors in CA. One doctor adds that prohibition of weed has turned teenagers to tobacco and alcohol instead.
Unfortunately, no pharmaceutical company is willing to fork over the money to research this method. The US has a monopoly on the available marijuana and research permits. There is a pill similar to marijuana but it has nasty side effects.
