Pop singer Michael Jackson has pleaded not guilty in court today, charged with child molestation. Today is Jackson's first appearance in a case that could send him to prison should he be found guilty.
Jackson arrived more than 20 minutes late for the hearing, and was chastised immediately by the judge, who said: "Mr. Jackson, you have started out on the wrong foot here. . . . I want to advise you that I will not put up with that..."
Fans and media crowded outside the courthouse in Santa Maria, California.
