John Hinckley Jr. who attempted to assassinate President Reagan to impress Jodi Foster in 1981 has been granted unsupervised visits with his family by a Federal Judge.
Hinckley will be allowed to go off the grounds of St. Elizabeths Hospital where he now resides up to 6 days at a time depending on the distance from the facility. Hinckley must be under supervision of his family at all times.
Former first lady Nancy Reagan said she and her family are disappointed by the ruling. Mrs. Reagan stated she fears for herself and the rest of the community.
