I have a question for people, I wanna know what others think. My question is about spam and the new laws being passed. Laws being passed by different states, and even the new federal law (I don't think it has past yet? Could be wrong though), carry jail time for spammers. Doesn't anyone else find this a little extreme. These people aren't a danger to society, they are really [censored] annoying, I'm not debating that, but are they really a danger? Do we need to send them to jail for a maximum of FOUR years at times? They don't belong with robbers, murderers and rapists in prison, they sent some annoying emails, that's it. I don't know, it seems like everyone takes things too seriously. Deal with some annoying emails, I know some people get a lot and it bogs down email servers and stuff, but jail time?!? Really, that's too extreme and just some more bs in my opinion. But what do you guys think, if anyone bothers to reply.

that is a little harsh, but i think that this is just a detourant. i doubt that any spammer would get anywhere even close to the maximum penalty of 4 years. i do however think that spam is really [censored] annoying. There has to be something to stop these people from annoying everyone. I dont know but i think huge fines is the best idea.

ban the spammers from ever using a computer ever again unless supervised?

That would be to hard to do with how many spammers there are. There's a hella lot of them...hey, getting paid to send email, what could be better?

i like the idea were the computer is forced to calculate a long math problem before sending an email. it would be unnoticed by the average emailer, but it would prevent the spammer from sending emails as fast due to the fact that it takes up processing power.
