What do you think when you hear "White Hat Hackers"?, yeah I think ok nice people that are as my Signature mentions positively involved in technology and not destruction wise.

Well now there is tons of little kids out there claiming they are white hat and are defacing sites and servers all over the [censored] place.

First of all Defacing is a [censored], its easy and old, no more fashion there. Its like DoSing in the period of 96 to 98 where all that was all nice and happy.

And guess what, the [censored] media picks up on these little script kiddies and makes "White Hat" a [censored] bad name. It really screws me round! I am [censored] tierd of this bullshit, first Hackers are bad now White Hats are bad. What about Crackers, Black Hats, Gray Hats, Virus Writers and all them little [censored](sorry extreme word there but u get me)?

Jesus everything people build up a name for over years gets pushed into the dirt BY [censored] SCRIPT KIDDIES AND THE MEDIA!

So what am I now? I used to be White Hat, but I must now be a Computer Geek or some [censored].

Cant wait to see someone deface a site saying "HaX0r3d y0 A55, bY dA c0MuT3r G33k5"
Then that name will also be in the shits!

Well what can you do about it? The media is evil they probably know all about white hat hackers and black and grey and yet they dont care they are just looking for a name to slam. As far as the script kiddies using the white hat name go, they piss everyone off just 16 year olds trying to impress their girlfriends or somthing. You ever been around a kid who says he's a real l337 hacker and impresses his totally computer ignorant friends with his mad DOS skillz or somthing gay like that thats what pisses me the hell off. The only way to stop this is to give the genral public a freakin' clue as to what hackers actually are

Surprised you weren't pissed a long time ago. Seems to me that hacker didn't even have to define itself as black/gray/white. Now hackers doesn't even necessarily refer to one who can code. So if I were you I would be pissed that you even had to specify white hat in the first place.

hey, I learned early on the media only reports a story with 'foul play' involved. Have you ever heard a story about a hacker who helped an admin out WITHOUT a negative connotation. I rest my case.

the only time they ever report a good story, is when that sort of thing is popular with most viewers, like how some twins were seperated, or whatever. I stopped watching the news, and avoiding it mostly, because all they usually talk about is either a lie, not important, or violence. I don't know why they blame video games when they show dead bodies and kidnapping videos on the news before I go to school. [censored] hypocrits.
