Depeche Mode. otherwise i would have thought you listened to shitty music only now, i know everyone says that Evanescence is just "linkin park with a girl singer" but they're not. if you listen to the lyrics they are so [censored] awesome. i am actually really starting to love that band. as for other music: i'm still sticking mainly to my DM and NIN. oh yeah.. Placebo is still a favorite. oh, ya'll should check out Tweaker. it's Chris Vrenna's (from NIN) solo project. it's really good stuff. oh, i guess i do have my guilty pleasure band that i am fully aware of that they suck. i still like 'em though. it's almost embarassing. oh well. um... Social Distortion is another must have. And the smiths... and OMD...and pretty much any decent 80s music. 80s music is the best! da 80s muzick rulz!

[censored] like Wham! or The Go Gos pisses me off. but a lot of the 80s tuneage is infinitly excellent

Hmm "I just didn't buy these new albums. 3 doors down(going to see them this coming friday) Another 700 Miles(pimp), Moby 18 B Sides+Dvd, Grandaddy - Sumday, Sheryl Crow - C'mon America 2003, No Doubt - Rock Steady([censored] yea), The Very Best of Sheryl Crow, Stagga Lee Presents M.V.P (M.ost V.aluable P.layas), Hatebreed - The Rise of Brutality( hell [censored] yea), Thursday - War all the time(sok), Less Then Jake - anthem, "Weird Al" Yankovic - Poodle Hat, Mest - Maverick(good), Rob Zombie - Past, Present & Future(fly & pimp), Thrice - The Artist in The Ambulance, Sugarcult - Start Static(good), The Ataris - so long, astoria(gooood), Juelz Santana - from me to u(sa'll right) and I really thought that some were pimp, tight, and phat. But some sucked." I didn't buy them, because they have the "For Promotional Use Only, Sale Or Other Transfer..bla bla bla." On them. Because I got them from a family member who is good with recording ppl. I listen to them on my laptop. I listen to a bunch of different music, everything pretty much, except country, and some pop. Blue Oyster Cult is always good. I like hard lyrics, and smash your head dizzy guitar/drum music(PoD, Linkin Park, Blink182, NiN, Evanescence, RATM, all that.) Hope that works for you Imperial

Radiohead is basically like one of the greatest bands of all time, they are amazing. Pedro the Lion [censored] rules, awesome lyrics and his latest album "Control" is unbelievable. Doves have sick stuff, The Last Broadcast is a solid album. Coldplay is a great band, Jack Johnson and Ben Harper are amazing as well, awesome chill music with really good lyrics and soul. There's no way you could ever leave out The Beatles. Only the greatest band of all time, almost every single one of their albums is mind blowing, The White Album could have been if it was made better, but the songs on it are rad. There's some good hip-hop rihgt now too, Outkast and Missy Elliot are putting out some very good music. The Strokes new album is very very good, too bad Rancid's new album sucks, they've been going downhill, Dropkick Murphy's are rocking right now too though. If you want some awesome jazz, put on John Coltrane's "A Love Supreme", it's a rediculous jazz album. SO much good music, I love it, lol. | | | | Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 616 UGN Super Poster | UGN Super Poster Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 616 | Radiohead I've been listening to since I saw the Paranoid Android Video way back when it first aired on MTV, I loved that. Coldplay is good, The Beatles are an all time favorite, Hey Jude, Imagine, All you need is love(doot dodododo), Eleanor Rigby, Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band(doodlodododoodlododo, it was 20 years ago today, sgt pepper taught this band to play). Yea I Liek the Beatles, I liek alot of old music, but I can never remember all the bands, the music video that had the neon skeletons, that was pimp. A google search for that should find it. I like sad songs, deep powerful spiritual songs, or hard [censored] make you dizzy like a orgasm songs(called a eargasm). The Strokes are coo, Coltrane is a favorite of many ppl, dood jazz [censored] owns bro:) I like your style bro, you have good taste.

"...but i killed my baby... i killed her with my knife"oh, i have to take a minute out to trash Radiohead. true, i own the OK Computer album, that one is actually good. i don't totally dispise them or anything, i just think they are way over rated. http://www.somethingawful.com/articles.php?a=1759 oh, and weeve, it seems a few of your other bands suck according to the guys at SA: coldplay: http://www.somethingawful.com/articles.php?a=1772 The Strokes: http://www.somethingawful.com/articles.php?a=1794 eh..those are all in good fun. the guy is obviously retarded because he makes fun of The Smiths who are actually fantastic. those articles just made me girly giggle so i thought i'd share.

Bealuh's new one, Yoko, is excellent. Sort of like Wilco, but louder.
Oh, Inverted World, by The Shins is some excellent music as well.
The stuff Johhny Cash did in his last decade is [censored] incredible.
As for some oldies- Nick Drake, The Band, Neil Young, and Velvet Underground are always good starting places.
Time to dissapear again. TBG.

They are probably my least favorite band of all time. And on second thought, Weeve, if you mention Rage in the same category as Linkin Park and Blink 182 again I will stab you in the face. | | | | Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 616 UGN Super Poster | UGN Super Poster Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 616 | fleshy, thanks for the site links, I just hate critics. They have the laziest, stupidest, most immoral, and unethical...really [censored] annoying job. They don't deserve the money they make. Rage Against the Machine, Linkin Park, and Blink 182. Try to stab me in the face, I'll grind your eyes out with toothpicks, slow funnel cyanide down your throat, cut your heart out as the cyanide dripping slowly kills you. Just as you die I will remove your heart fully, and shove it up your [censored]. Trying to stab big ppl(6'8 205), with anything, that are accustom to many martial arts, since youth, know almost every way to kill a person including chemically, is bad. Especially being that I'm a pacifist, and the only time that changes is when you hurt family or "real close" friends, or when you threaten me physically.(as in do something, it better kill me quick). O, and RATM, Linkin Park, Blink 182;/ I happen to like Blink 182's songs about [censored], and punkness. I like the hard, pounding loud anger of linkin park, and I love ratm/nin since I was liek 16. I'll liek what I want, when I want, and say what I want. I don't care who hates radiohead either, I still listen to them, hell I play tubthumper once in a while, and that's uber old. Just like I load warren g once in a while:\ People if your gonna down on a band, that makes more then any of us do in out life so far in a month, and bang on anything about them. Try to do what they do, sing, play a instrument, join a band. Then get booed off stage, called names, and asked to take your clothes off. All that, be all you can be, trying to be something your not. Then..and only then you can slam on someone else's [censored], by being in their shoes for that miniscule amount of time. Kthx;/

Deftones are cool as [censored] too as well as the White Stripes. U2, The Verve, Ben Folds (Ben Folds Five), Goo Goo Dolls, Bif Naked, and Five For Fighting and up too.
Maybe Blue listens to these guys, but Bell and Sebastian are the [censored]....oh and Norah Jones, Tracy Chapmen, and John Mayer have incredible voices. I'll probably get some [censored] for that, but the smart guys know some of the best girls are at his concerts. Please beleive I'm going

Well, they don't, they make good music. They are talented musicians and create VERY original music. Whether you like the music or not is a different issue. Imperial listens to good tunes, I love U2, White Stripes, Velvet Underground, John Mayer and Norah Jones as well.
[censored], forgot to mention I read all those articles on Something Awful, Fleshy. THey are a funny read, but the guy is SO dumb. All he talks about is how he's a "genius" and we're all so dumb. And he makes fun of bands but doesn't even listen to their albums, all the songs he mentioned are all singles, and he even says he doesn't listen to the whole album, so I give him no credit at all, heh. | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 109 Member | Member Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 109 | Yeah, I have Belle and Sebastien's If You're Feeling Sinister. I've heard good things about their newer one, but haven't listened to it yet. Would you recommend it?
I'll also toss Bright Eyes into the list. Voice needs a little polishing, and the lyrics need reined in a bit, but I think that in a few years this kid will be real good.
