Awhile back, i saw a URL in a book, it was a website that allowed you to view a website in various different browsers... Does anyone know a site such as this?

yea, I saw a site that offered this, but they wanted to charge you also. I sugest this.

get on winblows

install IE 5.5, Latest Mozilla, Opera 7, and latest Pheonix (from mozilla.org) and look at it from those.

That will cover about 80% of all that is out there. If you have a friend with a Mac or you yourself have one, look at it from there also.

Next install Linux. Go to the command line and type in

linx www.your_site.com

check your site out in a text only browser. Maybe try Konqueror (or however it is spelled) You should be good from there.
