If anyone knows how to use the MSComm control and could help me that would be great. If it makes a difference I have an HSP Micro Modem 56k Flex V9.0 Modem/Fax deal heh. I know the commands to do all of this (Testing in hyperterminal) but I want to do it in VB now. Thanx  | | |

However, I have not done anything else with it. What are you making it for? If it interests me, I'll help you out. MSComm sounds fun. | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 256 Likes: 1 UGN Security Staff | UGN Security Staff Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 256 Likes: 1 | Well, I am trying to make a program where you can call up the modem using your modem and recieve a list of options... Lets say for example "Dial to RSA/AcctName" or whatever. Just a way of making a server without using TCP/IP once I/We(Hopefully) get the basic server down we can modify it to do whatever our needs/desires want. heh. | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 1,273 DollarDNS Owner | DollarDNS Owner Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 1,273 | mhm... well, I'll start learning how to use the control and assess what can be done with it. | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 6 Junior Member | Junior Member Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 6 | Here --> SAMPLE <-- VB project, using MSComm. Looks like you'll be treading new roads neo! Blazing new trails! Lead the movement! Be the first! Be the one everybody follows and laments as the leetest.

When you get the comEvRing event, just look at the ring counter in the modem if you wanna have it ring a couple times first, or just pick it up there.
Look up AT modem commands to control the modem. It's easy. (ATH1 brings the phone off the hook). | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 7,203 Likes: 11 Community Owner | Community Owner Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 7,203 Likes: 11 | ::glances at Nomel:: damn, at least he said something intelligent although he brought back a year old discussion :x... | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 1,273 DollarDNS Owner | DollarDNS Owner Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 1,273 | yeah, I decided I didn't mind | | | | Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 27 Junior Member | Junior Member Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 27 | hahah damn...guess I should look at the dates. | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 256 Likes: 1 UGN Security Staff | UGN Security Staff Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 256 Likes: 1 | heh, awsome--thanks.
