I've had 2 monitors crap out on me in the last 2 years or so. Does anyone have any suggestions for a monitor that will last longer, or how to increase a normal monitor's lifetime? One of my friends recently told me not to turn it off, is that true?

Spend the Extra money on a CRT with a high refresh rate; your eyes will thank you.

LCD's will all that’s out there in five or so years, but for now CRT's are still superior.
