aha, I know why you're not able to connect! You're trying to connect from UGN's SSH aren't you? Port 6660-6669 are now blocked on the server due to exploits on other sites... Try port 7000 on irc5.undergroundnews.com

was just wondering how many servers are owned exclusively by UGN?

1 - Sin, Cable Connection, USA (IRC3)
1 - Infinite, Cable Connection, Canada (IRC2)
1 - Gizmo, Shell (from WatNet.org), USA (IRC5)

IRC1 was SR (USA) but he hasn't had a stable connection lately.
IRC4 was another of my shells though went down due to finance issues.

We'll likely have IRC1 as Ghost this summer, dependant on if a shell can be rented with a timeframe of 6months minimum; still waiting on details though...

Infinite's server just came back up last night (thank god), coincidently, Sin's went down last night as well, some sort of power outage, server has been down for about a day now.

Yeh, I'm back and wired for business. Now hurry and and get the DNS pointed so I can get into my server from work. You don't expect me to remember my IP do you? :p

Oh, and endgame... The answer technically is none :p irc5 is a shell, and sin and I own our own servers...

yeh, I just checked the DNS and saw it was pointed. Must be something on my end stopping me from ssh'ing in.

IRC4 will likely be Ghost this summer; IRC1 will likely be me in September (from my DVR)...

I'd need to know details; if it's a personal server on a cable line, probably not... If you're willing to contribute towards a shell on a professional line then probably.

The shell I was looking at is $20/mo (8bg processes), planning on running an IRCd, services, and perhaps an eggdrop and bnc... And of coarse, installing dopewars

BTW, I'm looking at VerityNET for one or RisingNet (though I'd prefer Verity as it comes with more bg processes).

if u send me the details of payment (a UGN account # would be preferable) then il deposit the money and u can sign up for the shell.

just make sure im given the login details.

Uh, this may not be the consenus among UGN administrators, but I'd rather be paying for this thing entirely by my self (which is what I was going to do anyway) than allow you access to a UGN ircd's login.

everything would be run by the current staff.
