NEW YORK - Thousands of players in the New York Daily News "Scratch N' Match" game were disappointed when they found that a printing error in the paper caused them to believe they had won prizes of as much as $100,000.00

A correction later printed in the paper broke the bad news to them. New York Daily News officials blamed the error on the D.L. Blair company, who runs the contest.

An article appearing in Monday's edition of the news instructed those who did scratch off the wrong numbers to submit a claim to D.L. Blair no later than July 8th. An independent investigation into the matter is being conducted by the newspaper.
