Well, I heard today again about the Verisign vs ICANN dispute, eveidently verisign wants to run everything without cause, at their prices. What does this mean for the average joe?

Look at domain costs through both companies, Verisign offers a domain at upwards to $75 where ICANN accredited registrars are as low as $5. This means that Verisign, if winning vs ICANN plans to up the prices of domains, and all services on the internet by well more than what we're all willing to pay.

You may know verisign by NetSol, Network Solutions, etc. Help stop this by signing the " Revoke Verisign as the .com/.net registry " petition here .

I have signed this petition personally as have all the individuals in my house. Please however, you MUST sign this with your real information, aliases, nicknames, etc are doing BAD for the petition, the more "lines" aren't good, they have to have ACTUAL e-signatures!

I find it helarious how Verisign aka Network Solutions is starting [censored] with ICANN so they can control everything about domain registrations... Lets look at this:

Verisign: Multi BILLION dollar company
ICANN: Non Proffit Organization

I can't believe this, all they want to do is increase their monopoly through the easiest means possible...

I reccommend that EVERYONE sign this petition, and please get your family members to sign it as well...

In the long run, this is how the costs add up..

Presant: $5/domain * 10 domains = $50/yr
Projected: $75/domain * 10 domains = $750/yr

Not only will this screw the little guys over, it'll screw EVERYONE over...

[censored] that, I would help UGN out... But I too urge everyone to sign up. These are the moments where the net can shift from free info to pay per click corperate systems.

If Domains go up it is like the price of gas. Everything goes up.

Sad thing is that their just money grubbing assholes! They aren't charged anymore for the services they provide, but they CHOOSE TO CHARGE more for them. Theive always been a large shitty company, it's not worth it for them to own the world...
