I've got two issues with that... well just one issue, the other is just an observation. First off, that's just kinda funny. I mean, that is 100% absolutely horribly racist. Reminds me of that Dave Chappelle monologue where he talks about goin into a restaurant and sayin, "Well sir, I think I'll have the=" "You'll have the chicken." I mean seriously, that is so stereotypical. It's just hilarious.
My issue with that is why do they have that in honor of black heritage month? I don't see why there's no white heritage month. It's similar to what happened yesterday in government class. We were discussing affirmative action, and I said that it was a bunch of bullshit. I also said that if I ever have any kind of money, I'm going to have a scholarship for which only white males can qualify. Two thirds of my class is either black or hispanic, and they got really pissed off and called me racist. The girls in my class called me sexist. So I pulled out a list of scholarships that our school publishes, and there were 15 scholarships on that. I qualify for one of those. 4 were for hispanics, 6 were for blacks, and three were for women. Out of the two remaining, one was for minorities, and the last scholarship (for an astounding 50 dollars) I qualify for. 15 scholarships, and I qualify for one because of the color of my skin. I have a 4.2 GPA, and I don't qualify for scholarships? So I told them they were bullshitting themselves, saying that they don't have as many opportunities and that I'm racist for wanting to have this fund. Because guess what? Opportunities abound.
Also consider colleges. You can have an all women's college. You can have an all men's college too, nothing wrong with that. You can have an all black college. What if you made an all white college? Or an all white men's college? The outcry would be absolutely enormous, and most likely it would be declared unconstitutional and it would no longer be all white or all white and male.
I'm not racist, and I'm not saying I want to go to an all white school. I just think it's ironic and shameful that we have such double standards. I also wouldn't mind havin somebody else pay for all of my college

Another, "Black History Month" is just an excuse for reverse racism. I mean its them proving that they can act high and mighty and degraide us...
I feel that Black History Month should be done away with, I mean look at who sold us half of the blacks, other blacks from Africa...
Now look what their doing, they get PAID now for slavery that happened to their ancestors... Its just yet another way for them to [censored] us over...
Now look at all of these ones in California that're eating the echonomy... They need a rule "if you can't support yourself, you're getting the [censored] outta here"...
Perg, I had a similar arguement with my parents bringing up the same points that you did. I believe Affirmative Action has to do with the acceptance of minorities and not scholarships. A BTW, you have a 4.2 gpa? Straight A+'s? ph33r
Well the way i see it is they have all there fun and black history month and all of that is because they think we o them something becasue or great grand parnts made them work.

anyway, i also think its pretty rediculous. whenever someone brings up the topic I mumble something about my real grandparents dying from hitler and about how jews are so oppressed and they leave me alone :-D
Dash, affirmative action is about the acceptance of minorities. Meeting quotas and stuff. I just mentioned that as an example, assuming everyone knows about that. Then I discussed the scholarship situation here in more detail.
Mostly A-s, an A- is the same as an A+ as far as GPA goes. Lots of AP classes...

well what things like black history month do is just bump down the value of being white. hell i know half of the kids at my school wish they were black...even more think they are Im white and im proud of it, that in its self is a racist statement right we're not aloud to be proud of our white heritage because we had slavery 100 years ago its just pure bullshit sooner or later hispanics and blacks will be the ones who need to be taken down a peg not whites there will never be equality too many people too few brain cells
bah, [censored] that. i wish i went to your school. i'd have a 4.2 as well. here you can get up to 4.33 but only with straight A+'s. all my academic classes are AP except for Math, but it was sophmore math as a freshman so whatever. btw, isn't affirmative action what i said it was? or not, im cornfused...it seemed like you were trying to contradict me, oh well...
