ok, i have this damn error message everytime that it cant open scrsvr.exe every time i start my pc up. I keep removing it from the start up in msconfig and everytime it comes back. Its not important... just annoying. Anyone know how the [censored] i can get rid of it?
maybe the file has something to do with windows starting properly? or maybe if its a program you use, there is some option in the programs option tab that allows you to choose whether you want it to load on startup. or if its not something important you could just delete the file i geuss. ahh, last thought, if none of that works, maybe you could write a program in vb, name it scrsvr.exe and place it in the startup, program the program to end as soon as it loads, that way windows has no problem loading it, and its gone real quick. theres probably some easier way that would work to get rid of the problem, but thats all i can think up
My scrsvr.exe was deleted... Well msconfig should hold it from booting, if not... Tell your firewall (if you have one) you don't want it to boot. One of the machines on my network got a virus, wtf was the name... Anyway, it infected the scrsvr.exe and well i disabled the virus and deleted it. Anyway... You can throw the PC out the window, it gets rid of a lot of computer problems.
I thought it was my pc being a [censored] but i installed norton and went through a 8 meg update and it detected it infected w/ a worm called w32.opaserv.worm. what a [censored], i bet i got it from my friends lan party this weekend.
this damn thing keeps coming back. I downloaded a remover tool and it says i dont have the worn yet AV tells me every 5-10 mins i do.

this [censored] KaZaA is drivin me crazy !!!! agrhhh.
Start>Run>MSINFO32 or what was the command ?
hmmm.... msconfig is the command you run.
This [censored] virus keeps infecting
scrsvr.exe, alevir.exe, and brasil.exe.
I keep deleting the files and they keep restoring or something. Its crazy and insanely annoying.
Moff i dunno but when i try Start > Run > msconfig
it DOESN'T WORK at all.
i'm running win200 adv server
do you know any other command that could help ?
search for startup, i think theres a folder that contains all the programs that will load on startup
oh, i didnt know u was running windows 2k. I had problems w/ that when i had it. I had to download an alternative... which worked just as good.
Some where i heard you can use the version of msconfig for windows XP for win2k, it has a few errors when u first run it but it spossed to work... I've never tried.
I can post a alternative program on brinkster for a day or 2 if you (or anyone else) would like to download it.

BackSlash- Not all programs are listed in the start up folder, I think it is just what starts up for that user.
If you get Startup Control Panel then it makes it alot easier.
Anyone know how the hell to get rid of that damn Adobeweb.log that opens every time I start up, and that when I take it off startup it adds it back immedietly?
yeah CS is right, not all programs are listen in the startup folder, i just checked it, but in the startup folder i have only MICROSOFT OFFICE, and i want to remove some progs for loading automatically like YIM, KaZaA [censored] and so on...
i thought the command was MSINFO32 but i can't find nothing there to remove em, could anyone please tell me another command or another way to remove these annoying progs for loading automatically on startup.

My bad. That is list of recent Run menu items.
Go all the way into the Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion -->
they should be in that directory
under the Run*
damn i'm still having problems finding that thing, jon i have a directory called RunMRU not just Run... damnit !! i'mma try this one more time.
Would you LISTEN? Jon corrected himself and he is NOT saying it's under EXPLORER!!! If you would just look down a little more you'd see the Run and RunOnce keys. And if you're running Win9x you'll also see RunServices.
Those keys can be found under the HKEY_CURRENT_USER root key as well.
I think that the Startup Control Panel just edits the registry like you would be doing. I prefer to use it because it is easier, but it might leave some stuff out. I would still suggest checking it out though,

finally SR !! Just couldn't find it before, now i did in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER and fixed it.
thanks jon and SR
P.S. CS that prog from the link you added is [censored] great !!
