The homeless in Paris, France, now have access to a secure place to store documents, thanks to the donation of nine new PCs by Microsoft Corp., to the homeless charity Emmaus.
Emmaus has set up an Internet center in a day shelter, and is teaching homeless people to create e-mail accounts and personal Web sites.
Helene Thouluc from Emmaus said: "We allow them to create their own site so that they can store all their important documents in a virtual house.... This allows them to create a protected space."
