I am starting a skining team. First thing I would like to skin is Winamp. This idea has Gizmo's stamp of approval. If skining gets bigenough he is willing to open a skins section on the site.
The idea is to showcase some of UGN's talent. Kind of get our name out there. If you are intrested post here. | | |

The GFX engeneers will be responsible for building the seperate elements of the skin's.
The "Idea Guys" will be responsible for sketch pad design's of what the skins will, rather should, look like.
We will also need people to draw up instructions and piece together differant skin's.
So far some quick software which accepts skinning: WinAmp Classic WinAMP 2 KaZaA Trillian Weather Watcher (although not showing HOW to make skin's it is still worth a look though).
Any others? Post here... | | | | Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 3,255 Likes: 3 UGN Elite | UGN Elite Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 3,255 Likes: 3 | Well Windows media player is skinable but I am not sure if you can make your own. Mozilla is skinable as is fire fox.
For Winamp 5 there is some XML knowlage needed also. | | | | Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 209 Member | Member Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 209 | It would be nice if there were more skins for FireFox, the ones they have now are all the same.. Kazaa needs some new ones 2. You should take that logo/banner thing at the top of the screen (Underground news/bottle thing) and make it into a winamp skin

These Theme Engines are Xantia and AutoTheme. AutoTheme is pretty straight forward, simply various calls in the template file to show where data is to be loaded.
